I am Giddy with Happiness

Peyton Manning has been seen as this era’s golden child. He is on his way to break most quarterback records, has 4 MVP and 2 Super Bowl rings, whoops he only has one. This puts the breaks on the greatest of all time talks. The thing about Manning is that he has 4 MVPs and only 1 Super Bowl to show for that. I am sorry but a 9-9 record in the post season just doesn’t cut it if you want to be considered an all time great.  Manning is arrogant and cocky and it showed in his press conference. He is classy when he needs to be but some times he looks like a little kid. The Colts bought into the pregame hype, don’t try and say they didn’t because they were walking around Miami with swagger but they forgot one thing their opponent was a great team.  This game was suppose to sky rocket Manning to the top of the quarterback charts and I think that caused Manning to reach for plays that weren’t there.

Also, don’t forget Manning won the Colts so many of their games but in the biggest game of the year he loses it for them when he threw a 74 yard pick six.  I’m sorry but if you need this game to make your legacy you can’t throw that bad of an interception, a game changer.  Like I have said for the past couple of years the Colts they are amazing in the regular season winning at least 12 games for the last 7 years, yet they have won 1 championship and only won 9 games in the post season. Sorry I know everyone is pounding the fact that his Legacy took a hit but, I have been saying it for a while that Manning always finds a way to fall into the shadow of playoff games.

The one thing that is still in tact for Manning is that he is a great leader. ” We’re sorry to our fans,” Manning said. “I’m sorry to our fans.” He does know how to take credit for a horrible loss.  Well, In my eyes Manning is a choke artist that feeds his records in the regular season. He is classy ( even this took a hit when Manning decided he wasn’t going to shake hands with the Saints), smart and is an all around football player but his legacy in my eyes did take a hit. I am one of the few that will love Manning when he becomes a color commentator on CBS but right now he is #18 and I can’t stand the guy.
