Heyward the Next Griffey…I Think Not

Jason Heyward of the Atlanta Braves has a bright future.BravesMetsSpring

The 20-year-old outfielder has the body and the talent to be great in this league.  People have already compared this kid to the original kid:  Ken Griffey Jr.  But isn’t this comparison coming a little too soon?

Griffey had this much hype when he first arrived in Seattle in the late 1980s. But what Heyward doesn’t have going for him is the attitude.  No one will ever grab the attention Griffey did when he first came up in the big leagues.

With his hat on backwards and with the sweetest swing off all-time, he grabbed fans attention and hearts.  Heyward doesn’t have the same charisma as Griffey had at his age.

While Heyward will be a great player and will probably be around for 20 years, there is only one Ken Griffey Jr. in this world.
