The Celtics and Spurs are mirror images of each other
Mar 8th, 2010 | By Jake Doerr | Category: NBABoth of these franchises aren’t even a resemblance of what they were a few years ago. The Celtics are only a year removed as championship and the Spurs last Finals
win was in 2007 but both teams look like they sold their soul to the devil and he has come to collect. Both these teams are horrible and and awful television watch.
Lets start out with last nights game between the Celtics and Wizards where Kevin Garnett proved my theory of the devil has come to collect. Garnett went 0-7 shooting against and amazing front line the Wizards have that includes Andray Blatche, JaVale McGee and James Singleton. I mean I know that screams amazing defensive talent but come on Garnett proved that he is over the hill and the Celtics dynasty has come to an end. I hope the Boston sports fans enjoyed their championship because it might be a while tell their next one. This was the first time he didn’t make one shot since 1996 his rookie season. The problem I have with Garnett right now is the fact he still talks like he is a puranial player in the league yet he is only a shell of two years ago. The Celtics blew the trade deadline and now they will get beat in the playoffs by a less experienced but more athletic team. The Celtics are old and aren’t going to get any younger in the near future so all I can say is the Celtics fans shouldn’t be buying up to many playoff tickets right now.
The Spurs are the Celtics west. As much as everyone praised the Spurs front office when they were winning their titles, they should now disapprove of their actions. Tim Duncan as boring as he is, he has always been a super star in this league but I don’t think that the Spurs unselfish mentality has cought up to them and now the Big three are getting older and give their team lest productivity. The Spurs are used to one of their star players going down late in the season and this year is now different Tony Parker is going to miss at least six weeks with a broken hand, this is significant because in the past years they had the horses to keep the team going in the absence of a star player, this year they do not. The Spurs sit at 7th place and without Parker they could fall out of the western playoffs. I hate to say it but the Spurs luck might be running out.
Both team’s big three are old and underachieving and are the reason for both team’s struggles. I look for these two franchises to have a lot of down years in their future. You can thank their GM’s for the success and fall of your beloved teams.
